Since 2021 SBS has provided California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) effects analysis and botanical inventory services to a variety of clients in Siskiyou, Shasta and Trinity Counties through a partnership with Northern California Resource Center. These projects are collaborative strategic planning effort between the U.S. Forest Service, CALFIRE, Local Fire Safe Councils, Local Watershed Councils, private landowners, and commercial timberland owners. SBS staff have conducted pre-field reviews and habitat assessment for special status plant species, prepared invasive species risk assessment, CEQA effects analysis and biological specialist reports for fuels reduction and habitat enhancement projects.
